God's Kingdom

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things.”
— Matthew 25:23

Multiplying talents was never just about business. These are the people on the ground doing the work — building hospitals, teaching trades, serving the least of these. Here's how you can help.

“The Gospel is free, but sharing it costs a lot of money.”
The Calling

For years Jonathan pastored a small church in Alabama and ran a home construction company. He made trip after trip to Cameroon, trying to build a mission from 5,000 miles away. Progress was slow.

Then his wife — who seemed to be in excellent health — suddenly died. In his grief and aloneness, the Lord made it unmistakably clear: go. Full-time. No more half measures.

After a period of struggle, he went.

The Mission

Jonathan is now Director of Development in Nomedjoh, Cameroon. His job: build a hospital campus, a high school and technical school, and develop a local economy to make the mission self-supporting within five years.

The Lord provided him a house, a wife — a fellow missionary who directs the hospital laboratory — and an adopted family. She is, in his words, “a beautiful and wonderful woman of great faith.”

Dear Friend,

Someone once told me: “The Gospel is free, but sharing it costs a lot of money.”

That's true. That's why fundraising is such an important part of my work.

I am a missionary in the village of Nomedjoh, Cameroon, Africa. My position is Director of Development for the mission. It is my task to facilitate and direct the construction of a new hospital campus, a high school/technical school, and to develop a local economy to make the mission self-supporting and self-propagating within five years.

It was late in life when the Lord called me into this ministry full-time. For many years I was the pastor of a small church in Alabama, and also owned and operated a home construction company. During those years I made many trips to Cameroon, actually trying to accomplish from a distance the same thing I'm doing now in person. We had limited success.

Then everything changed. My wife, who seemed to be in excellent health, suddenly died. In my time of grief and aloneness, the Lord made it clear that I was to go out as a full-time missionary. So, after a period of struggle, I went.

In the village, the Lord provided me a house to live in and a wife and adopted family. My wife is a fellow missionary and the director of the hospital laboratory. She is a beautiful and wonderful woman of great faith.

Our work on the hospital building is at a standstill right now because of lack of funds. We need $12,000 to complete the walls and floors of 5,000 square foot building.

We have a shipping container loaded with items to help build and equip the hospital, including a track loader for excavation purposes, tools and supplies, and the x-ray machines essential for proper medical care. The container is presently stuck in the port of Kribi, Cameroon until we raise the money for the very large import tax. We needed an additional $13,000. As of April 30, $5,500 has come in, so we still need $7,500.

So what am I asking from you?

Simple enough. Just do whatever the Lord puts on your heart. Pray for this cause with authority. Tell others about this wonderful opportunity to help Our Lord's impoverished servants. Give to this mission yourself as He impresses it upon your heart.

In Our Lord Christ,

Jonathan Uncapher
